Some online transactions might require a 3D Secure (3DS) authentication. 3DS is beneficial for the user as it:
- adds extra protection from fraudulent transactions
- reduces declines when doing online purchases
A notification will pop up on the mobile phone when you attempt an online transaction requiring 3DS verification, so that you can choose the way of verifying the transaction and whether you’d like to accept or decline a payment. You can verify the transaction by:
- logging into the app, entering an SMS verification code or
- receiving an email message.
Don’t worry if you didn’t tap the authorization notification on time. Attempt the transaction again and another notification will pop up on your phone. You won’t have to authenticate every payment - only selected transactions will require authorization.
Only the person who initiates the transaction for the group will get the notification and is able to verify for the group!
